Skilled and unskilled cheating in poker The most common and easiest methods of cheating does not require any manipulation ability, but rather focuses merely on the nerve of the player. Such underhand techniques include avoiding house fees, peaking over someone’s shoulder or shorting the pot. When caught out the player will often say it is an honest mistake but it might be a good idea to watch them in the future! Now, some individuals spend hours, days or weeks perfecting their skilled methods of cheating. A common skilled cheat that happens during conventional poker is when players hand muck. This is when they secretly hide a good hand of cards that they then switch with their current poor hand. This player may or may not use other players to help him or her cheat. A skilled cheat dealer can deal the bottom card, the second from bottom card or the second card, and the middle card. The trick here is the select the card one needs and then to place it in a position where they can be easily found. Keep an eye on the dealer because a cheat dealer often holds his index finger in front of the deck (also knows as the mechanic’s grip). The finger allows the cheat to control the cards better and to slightly conceal what they are really doing with the deck. Cheats know that simply getting a powerful hand will not win the game and they often resolve to hand someone else in the group a set of cards that is almost as powerful as his. |
